Kathryn Kerrigan, Inc. gets launched

In an effort to create beautiful, elegant shoes for women with larger feet, Kathryn Kerrigan has launched Kathryn Kerrigan, Inc. a new shoe design, distribution and retail business. Kerrigan who stands 6 feet tall is an avid athlete and wears a size 11. “Try walking into any designer shoe store and finding a beautiful size 12. It’s embarrassing and it doesn’t have to be.” Kerrigan said.

“Most of my girlfriends from college basketball are 6’ or taller. We were able to wear our basketball shoes or flip flops while on the road. We are now part of a new generation of very tall women who want to look and feel elegant – “Elegance Reborn”. We now are businesswomen, trendsetters and mothers. When we go out we want elegant, flirty designer shoes in sizes 11, 12 and 13,” added Kathryn.

A contributing factor to the big-foot phenomenon is the increase in participation in women’s sports. Not only are American women more athletic, they are taller, and their feet are keeping pace. Accordingly, bigger sizes sell out faster than they did 25 years ago, says the National Shoe Retailers Association.

Most shoe retailers and designers have not kept pace with the demand for elegant shoes in larger sizes. By simply stocking more large sizes, retailers could boost their annual revenue and embrace an emerging market.

Kathryn Kerrigan, Inc. focus on high quality, large size women’s shoes. “We like to say our shoes are for women who want to stand out in a crowd,” joked Kerrigan.

This is Kathryn Kerrigan’s first year at the Collections at the World Shoe Association Show and shoes will be displayed in The Venetian, Suite # 6334.
