StyleBites: Shoes in Sizes 11, 12, 13, 14, and up?
Hi guys! I say that quite literally as I've discovered that there are thousands of you out there trawling the Net to find
advice on where to buy your stilettos. Who knew?
I know how hard it is to find shoes in anything larger than a women's 10 (european 41). I'm acutely acquainted with these
troubles. Sizing up at an 11 (euro 42), I watch shop assistant's roll their eyes or giggle when I ask if this Dolce and
Gabanna sling back comes in my size.
"Can you imagine?" they laugh, "Someone in her size shopping in our store? The very idea!"
Too many times, women with large feet (and men seeking heels) are faced with the grim reality that is the "extended size"
selection. These are the ugly shoes. You know, the "sports sandals", the shapeless taupe ballet flats, the square toe pumps
that not even your mother would touch.
Take heart! There are options out there. Whether on the Net or in the stores, you can find the shoes, boots and wedges your
heart desires... it just takes some time and research.
Kathryn Kerrigan: size 11-12, incl. 11.5, will add 12.5, 13 and 13.5 this fall
